Here's some of what I've written recently:

I love Los Angeles.

Last night our roommates came home with free tickets to a concert, thanks to someone at a ward function who had hookups. Since they both had other plans, Colby and I went.

The concert was a benefit and a launch preview for a new cable network all about green living, Planet Green. It was even better than expected, although we only saw each group do one or two numbers.

It was really cool to see Switchfoot and Bowling For Soup, both of whom I love. I also loved Ziggy Marley and Blue Man Group (which did a couple of short numbers with Tommy Lee). Probably my favorite performance of the night, however, was Train’s “Drops of Jupiter”. Their singer was fabulous, the musicianship was solid, and I just wanted to close my eyes and float away in the music. It was too hard to stop watching, though. Fantastic.

Since it was for TV, even Ludacris was clean. It also meant that we got to move up to fill empty seats–we sat in about the fifteenth row. Not a bad night for free.
