Here's some of what I've written recently:

Soon after I arrived in LA, we traveled to the San Jose area to oppose a local menu-labeling ordinance in Santa Clara County. We worked hard and got a lot of letters signed, but it wasn’t enough to change their minds: the ordinance passed earlier this month. You can read the California Restaurant Association’s update on it here. It includes this about our work:

In addition to our advocacy efforts, the CRA also launched a grassroots campaign and generated hundreds of opposition letters from constituent restaurants in Santa Clara County. Despite aggressive lobbying and grassroots efforts to defeat the ordinance—or at least postpone the vote until the state legislative bill has been through the legislative process—the County Board passed the ordinance.
