Here's some of what I've written recently:

This week I hail from another hotel room. We spent the the first couple of days this week in Sacramento, Wednesday was near Oakland, Thursday is San Fransisco, and on Friday I’ll be going to San Jose, then back to L.A.

I’ll admit to being very tired of travel by the time we got to Sacramento. Yesterday made up for a lot of it, however. After work we went to the offices of the California Restaurant Association, in a skyscraper overlooking the California capitol. We met the leaders of the CRA and the restaurants and chatted with lobbyists just back from meeting with legislators. I enjoyed meeting such successful people and learning how they moved from where I am to where they are. The key? You guessed it: building connections.

Sometimes it’s hard when we’re hitting the pavement to keep the big picture in mind, for the client and for myself in my career. Our meeting on Tuesday did a lot to remind me of the good this job is doing for both. I’m glad to be here, and I’m feeling re-energized. I hope to be home and able to post photos next week.

    Successful by what definition?

    Good point.

While I can’t claim knowledge of any other aspect of their lives, they certainly have been successful in building their chosen careers.

I hope to be successful in that area, as well as some others.
